Old Business
Repairs to Gunn Hwy. Wall – Wendy reported that she finally received a response from Perry Mallory at T-3
Construction on April 8 advising her that the project would start soon, but no contract had been provided yet. Barbara stressed that a contract was needed before the work began, since the cost of drawings and permits was still unknown. Wendy will request from Mr. Mallory a contract with the total cost for the project. Wendy also reported that she had prepared letters for the additional four residents who will be affected by the repairs and retraction letters for those residents who had been notified before the wall sections to be repaired had been changed.
Repair to Jackson Rd. Wall – Wendy reported that she is still awaiting a reply from Mr. Mallory regarding this matter.
Painting – Jackson Rd. Wall – This approved project is pending repair of the wall.
New Business
New Mulch Needed at Entrances – Wendy reported that the mulch at the entrances needs to be replaced. It was previously replaced in 2022 for $500. Trustees discussed whether red mulch or pine nuggets should be used, and pine nuggets were agreed to. Therefore, Barbara made a motion, seconded by Wendy, that up to $800 be allocated for new pine nugget mulch at both entrances, to be applied by Gator Property of Tampa Bay, the district’s landscape maintenance company. The motion was approved by a vote of 7-0. Wendy agreed to contact Jim Sears at Gator about this project.
Vote to Schedule 2025 Public Budget Hearing – Penny made a motion, seconded by Carol, that the public budget hearing be scheduled for June 10, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. at Northdale Recreation Center, 15510 Hooting Owls Place, Tampa, following the regular June monthly board meeting. The motion was approved by a vote of 7-0. Barbara determined that the advertisement for the hearing must be published in the Bulletin Board of the Tampa Times on May 14, 2025 in order for it to be timely.
Other Business
New Benches Installed in Beacon Meadows Park – Wendy reported that six attractive, well-constructed benches had recently been installed in concrete slabs at the park.
There being no further business, Penny made a motion, seconded by Wendy, that the meeting be adjourned at 7:20 p.m. The motion was approved by a vote of 7-0.
