Old Business
FY26 Budget Package – No word has been received from the County as to the status of the package.
Unaudited Financial Statement – Postcards to Property Owners – Barbara reported that the postcards were mailed. The cost was $187 with a $25 coupon. All Trustees present received a postcard.
Repair of Gunn Hwy. Entrance Planter – The planter was repaired by Gator Property of Tampa Bay for a reduced cost of $800 from the original proposal of $985.32. Barbara commented that the blocks in front looked somewhat uneven. Michael suggested that Gator be contacted about this.
New Business
Approve Meeting Schedule for New Fiscal Year (October 2025 – September 2026) and Advertise – Dena made a motion, seconded by Carlos, that the Board meetings for Fiscal Year 2026 continue to be held at 7:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month at the Northdale Recreation Center, 15510 Hooting Owls Place, Tampa, Florida. The motion was approved by a vote of 6-0. Barbara will advertise the meeting schedule in the Bulletin Board of the Tampa Bay Times, as required, and will report the cost of the advertisement at the October Board meeting.
Additional Business
Partially Blocked Culvert – Michael reported that the culvert under Cypress Tree Dr. at the Casey Rd. entrance is partially blocked with debris, preventing water from flowing freely. A suggestion was made that Michael contact County Public Works to investigate the situation.
Question About Holiday Event – After inquiring if the District has a credit card, which Barbara replied that she does as Treasurer, Michael asked if a holiday get-together could be held using money from the budget. Barbara responded that this was not an allowable expense.
Unmowed Yards in Subdivision – Michael asked if some of the unmowed yards could be mowed at the District’s expense by Gator Property of Tampa Bay. Barbara responded that the District’s ordinance allows for money to be expended for maintenance of common property only. Property owners’ yards are not common property.
Jackson Rd. Wall – There was discussion among Trustees about the Jackson Rd. wall, which technically does not belong to the District. Therefore, District funds can be expensed for minor and/or cosmetic repair and maintenance of the exterior of the wall, but no extensive repairs can be made without the property owners’ intervention.
Florida Commission on Ethics E-mail – Carlos reported that he received an e-mail from the Florida Commission on Ethics and questioned its legitimacy. Barbara responded that this was a legitimate e-mail.
Wall Paint – Steven asked if there was any more wall paint remaining. Barbara responded that she had paint at her house from the last job that was performed by Steve Norton Painting. The color is Sand Dollar, which is noted on the Beacon Meadows website. Michael commented that the paint did not show mold.
There being no further business, Rebekah made a motion, seconded by Dena, that the meeting be adjourned at 7:35 p.m. The motion was approved by a vote of 6-0.
