Barbara added that the check for $49,400 was hand-delivered to T-3 Construction.
Old Business
Repairs to Gunn Hwy. Wall – Wendy reported that the project is complete. The sections straightened are as follows: 37, 38, 46, 47. However, section 41 was not straightened but instead stabilized due to a fence in the property owner’s yard. Also, section 40 by the bus stop was not straightened because of a fence in the property owner’s yard. Wendy and Allen inspected the work and it appeared satisfactory. As reported by Barbara, the invoice for $49,400 has been paid by check to T-3 Construction.
Repair to Jackson Rd. Wall – Wendy reported that she is still waiting for a reply from Perry Mallory of T-3 Construction regarding this matter.
Painting – Jackson Rd. Wall – This approved project is pending repair of the wall.
New Mulch Needed at Entrances – Wendy reported that an estimate has not yet been received from Jim Sears of Gator Property Management for purchasing and spreading the mulch.
New Business
Missing Blocks at Gunn Hwy. Entrance – Wendy reported that six blocks are mysteriously missing from the planter on the east side of the entrance. She and Allen are willing to do the work to replace the blocks. They will need six blocks and glue. Penny made a motion, seconded by Steve, that blocks and glue for the project be purchased for an amount not to exceed $40 (46.00). The motion was approved by a vote of 7-0.
2025 Public Budget Hearing – Trustees were reminded that the hearing will be conducted on June 10 at 7:30 p.m. after the regular monthly Board meeting. A quorum is required. Barbara confirmed that the advertisement for the hearing will be published in the Tampa Bay Times Bulletin Board on May 14 for it to be timely. Wendy agreed to buy a newspaper for a copy of the advertisement.
Upcoming Resignation of Two Board Members – Wendy announced that she and Allen will be moving to Wesley Chapel in the near future. However, they are willing to remain on the Board as necessary, since they are waiting until after they move to sell their house. Trustees agreed that postcards should be mailed as has been done in the past to request two new volunteers to fill the vacancies. They must be registered voters in the voting district. Penny had a copy of a postcard from what appeared to be the last time volunteers were needed. Barbara will get an estimate of the cost of printing and mailing postcards. Since a new President is needed, Carol agreed to take the role after Wendy resigns from the Board. All Trustees thanked Wendy and Allen for their many years of dedicated service, especially keeping on top of all maintenance and repair projects, many of which they handled themselves.
Other Business
Yard Debris Outside Fence at Gunn Hwy. Entrance – Wendy called the property owner’s daughter about the debris that had been left outside the fence since the construction there had been completed. She responded to Wendy that it was supposed to be disposed of by the construction company. Wendy reported that the debris is now gone.
There being no further business, Penny made a motion, seconded by Barbara, that the meeting be adjourned at 7:26 p.m. The motion was approved by a vote of 7-0.
