Minutes of the Public Hearing for FY17 Budget Re-adoption

Beacon Meadows Special Dependent District

January 12, 2017

Trustees Present:          Michael Fisher (President), , Dave duCille (Vice President),Barbara Appel (Treasurer), Penny Phillips (Secretary),
                                       Anne Blevins (Trustee), John O’Neill (Trustee) Kathy Boyd (Trustee)

Trustees Absent:           None

Public present:              Joyce O'Neill (4809 Ridge Point Drive)

 

President Fisher called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and stated that the purpose of the meeting was to afford the public the opportunity for discussion concerning the intent by the Board of Trustees to re-adopt the FY17 budget of the Beacon Meadows Special Dependent District. Announcement for the meeting was published, as required, in The Tampa Bay Times.

 

Trustees discussed the proposed re-adopted budget, to reflect an increase of $30,000.  The increase is from monies received as a result of balance fund transfer of monies not spent as anticipated in FY2016.

 

President Fisher opened the floor for public comment.  There were no questions or comment from the public.

 

Trustee Blevins made a motion, seconded by Trustee Boyd, to re-adopt the FY17 budget of the Beacon Meadows Special Dependent District, with the resolution being read in its entirety.  The motion was approved unanimously by a vote of 7-0.

 

Trustee Appel then moved to adjourn the meeting.  President Fisher seconded the motion.  The motion was approved unanimously by a vote of 7-0.  The hearing was adjourned by President Fisher at 8:50p.m.

BUDGET RE-ADOPTION RESOLUTION

Budget Year FY 17

 

A RESOLUTION TO RE-ADOPT THE FY17BUDGET AND RE-ALIGN FUNDS WITHIN VARIOUS ACCOUNTS OF THE BEACON MEADOWS SPECIAL DEPENDENT DISTRICT

 

Upon the motion by Trustee Blevins, seconded by Trustee Boyd, the following Resolution was adopted by a vote of 7-0.

 

WHEREAS, Beacon Meadows Special Dependent District has adopted a budget for FY 17 which includes 389.9, Beginning Fund Balance; and

 

WHEREAS, Beacon Meadows Special Dependent District desires to re-adopt its FY 17 budget and re-align funds in revenues and expenditures to reflect actual beginning balances and expenditures; and

 

WHEREAS, Beacon Meadows Special Dependent District now desires to increase this budget from $42,439 to $72,439; and

 

WHEREAS, Beacon Meadows Special Dependent District advertised a public hearing for the purpose of re-adopting the budget and re-aligning accounts in a newspaper of general circulation in compliance with Chapter129 of the Florida Statutes; and

 

WHEREAS, Beacon Meadows Special Dependent District conducted a duly advertised public hearing on January 12, 2017 to consider the proposed re-adopted budget, presented the proposed re-adopted budget and heard public comment regarding the proposed amendments.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Trustees of Beacon Meadows Special Dependent District on this 12th day of January, 2017:

 

SECTION 1. Re-adopt FY17 budget by appropriating funds and re-aligning the amounts appropriated for the following line items:

SECTION 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
